Rincón del Descanso — Spanish for “a place to rest” — is the Caribbean sister to our Time-Out Corner, a beautiful, relaxing oceanfront home on the Caribbean side of Isla Mujeres, Mexico. This friendly, safe and scenic five-mile-long island off the coast of Cancún has preserved the beauty and charm of a Mexican fishing village.
Enjoy the turquoise hues of the Caribbean from your private solar-heated pool, and a sandy beach right outside your door. The rooftop palapa offers views of the sunrise over the Caribbean and sunsets over Cancún Bay.
Located right on the ocean just outside of town, it's a short 15-minute walk or brief taxi ride to spectacular North Beach and the downtown area with its great restaurants, shops, and nightlife on Hidalgo Street.

Wildlife
Sea turtles nest on our beach
From May through October, sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach right in front of the house — with the heaviest nesting in July and August. Watch them from the patio as they make their way to shore under the moonlight.

Whale Shark Tours
Between June and August, swim alongside 30–40 foot whale sharks during their migration. Up to 400 gather off the coast of Isla Mujeres.
Snorkeling & Scuba
Explore the underwater museum MUSA, coral reefs, and the crystal-clear waters on the Caribbean side of the Yucatán Peninsula.
Downtown & Nightlife
Hidalgo Street is the heart of nightlife with restaurants, bars, and shops. North Beach is a short walk or taxi ride away.
